COMMUNITY

MOMO believes in sustainability and contributing to the community which supports them. We strive to be a leader of positive change.
This is achieved in a variety of ways:

BUYING LOCAL.

Near to all of MOMO's products and services are purchased through local suppliers. MOMO is actively incorporating more and more local produce on its menu, with an exciting Summer menu on its way featuring Gippsland's finest Breweries, Wineries and Growers.

  EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING.

MOMO is a significant employer in the area, hiring in excess of 30 employees, most of which are full time. This is a vital contribution to the local economy considering the current hardship of the La Trobe Valley Region, in FY2016-2017 labour costs were approximately $963,300. MOMO prides itself on being an employer of choice and actively ensures that they are compliant with all their staff entitlements under their Industry Award MA000119.

MOMO is dedicated in the training and development of their staff and offering opportunity for those in the community for work experience/placement, both for those school age and those within the 'job seeker' system. MOMO actively hires, trains and retains significant numbers of previous to their hiring 'long term unemployed' staff members.

Currently there is 17 staff members undertaking Certificate III and IV Nationally Recognised Courses through the business (A further two at their second venue- Ritz On Hotham). This figure is exclusive to the fourteen successful completions in Certificate III and IV Courses of their employees in 2017 funded through the businesses.

MOMO hosts an annual 'A Very Special Christmas' lunch for those deemed in need by St Vincent De Paul, where each attendee receives a complimentary lunch and specially chosen gift to assist in feeling valued within the Community, in a time which can be quite difficult for those who have been receiving assistance throughout the year. This lunch has been hosted I believe for two consecutive years, last year inviting 160 families.MOMO believes in supporting the Community which supports them, ensuring all supplies are sourced locally and ethically.

DONATIONS.

MOMO contributes to multiple causes within the Community, from vouchers to local Primary Schools to donating money towards fundraising events. MOMO is currently donating $2 from every Parma sold in August, 2018 to their 'Parma For A Farmer' fundraising for the 'Buy A Bale' and 'Gippsland Farmer Relief Fund'.

Later this month MOMO is in the works of organising and hosting a BIG fundraiser to raise much needed funds for the farmers of East Gippsland who are suffering in a long, crippling drought. MOMO is seeking local producers, suppliers and businesses to donate for the event, which they hope to achieve 100% donation of ALL funds raised on the day from both food and beverage sales and a silent auction of good and services.
